Introduction to Urbanminers

Want to support a new industry that creates jobs where none were before, without poaching them from other places? Want to see history come to life around you? Want to see the world filled with new resources to be used in composting, recycling, and manufacturing? How about just getting cool objects for cheap? Urbanminers is the answer!

A new industry is developing in America. It's known as the Building Materials Reuse Industry. It is a reinvention of environment and resources. Our basic tenet, there is no waste; every single thing you can see or imagine is actually a resource that can be used, just like we use rocks, trees, clay, ore, oil, etc. And, just like with traditional ways of gathering these resources, these new resources need to be 'mined.'

Urbanminers is committed to mining these resources from the manmade world, such that we can create a tremendous volume of really cheap materials and objects that can be used to do everything we used to, build furniture, have beautiful flooring, insulate our homes, replace our windows, etc, and so we have stuff to play and imagine with, so we create a new world where we don't have to clear cut forests, or remove mountain tops, or leave the poor without the basic necessities they need.

We offer two basic services that we use to capture the waste streams coming from the construction and demolition industry, business trash, household trash, and anywhere else we can possibly mine.

Deconstruction - doing a renovation, or need a building, or any man made structure, removed from where it stands? We'll take it apart, piece by piece, until it's all gone, and find uses for all of it. Call us up, and let us know what you need, and we'll tell you if we can do it.

Material Salvage - just got some stuff you don't want anymore? Call us, or email us pictures of it, or a link to a video displaying it, and we'll tell you whether we can accept it at the current moment. Drop offs of items are appraised for the reuse value and a discount to the Urbanminers' store is given in an amount equal to 20% of the estimated value (and, no one's perfect. If you think we're wrong in the price we're quoting you, argue with us about it, explain what evidence you have to support the value you give the item, and we'll listen.). Pick ups usually require a service charge.
